Horizon Delivers New E88 Motoryacht Wild Duck to Second-time U.S. Owner

Horizon Yacht USA recently delivered a new Horizon E88 motoryacht “Wild Duck” to her second-time U.S. owner in Florida; the owner built his first Horizon, an E78 cockpit motoryacht, in 2012 and after a few years of cruising, decided it was time to move up to a larger yacht.

The delivery ceremony took place on board “Wild Duck” where we popped Moet champagne, the owner’s favorite, and presented him with two Horizon gift baskets as well as a custom-designed book that documents the build of his E88 motoryacht from start to finish. As twilight descended, she cast a beautiful glow on “Wild Duck” and provided the perfect setting to celebrate the owner and his new Horizon yacht.

“Wild Duck” features four en suite guest staterooms – a full-beam Master, forward VIP, and two twin guest staterooms – as well as separate crew quarters aft of the engine. Horizon and the owner worked together to customize his E88 motoryacht, designing a “champagne bar” at the salon aft entrance with two wine coolers and ample bottle and glass storage; taking out the formal dining to enlarge the salon and add a breakfast bar; incorporating a desk in the Master for the owner’s business needs; and designing the flybridge to include a glass windshield but leaving the remaining areas open for an EZ2CY enclosure.

“It is the ultimate compliment when an owner comes back to build another yacht with you,” said Horizon Yacht USA Director Roger Sowerbutts. “The owner was active in his previous Horizon E78, so when he came to us to build the E88, he knew what worked for him; and with Horizon’s build flexibility, it was easy to include the amenities he wanted. It was a pleasure to work with the owner – we truly enjoyed bringing his second ‘Wild Duck’ to life.”

The owner plans to cruise “Wild Duck” in Florida and the Bahamas, and maybe one day ship her to the Mediterranean. We wish the new owner many adventures and happy memories on board his new Horizon E88 motoryacht!
