With over 1,300 boats and yachts on display and more than 100,000 visitors in attendance, the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show returned to its former glory bigger and better than ever. Situated in its prominent corner lot position at the main entrance of the Face Dock at Bahia Mar, the Horizon Yacht USA Showcase was a flurry of activity throughout the five-day show, with current and potential clients eager to visit the FD Series yachts on display.

Presiding over the showcase was the brand new FD110 Tri-Deck, the largest yacht built to date in the Cor D. Rover-designed Fast Displacement Series of high-volume yachts. Entertainment and relaxation are the emphasis of the FD110’s design, and the five-stateroom yacht features a style throughout that emphasizes natural finishes, subtle coloring and clean, modern elements.

Alongside the FD110 Tri-Deck were a tri-deck FD92 - the first tri-deck FD Series design ever built - and a debuting FD100 Tri-Deck. Also a five-stateroom yacht, the FD100 Tri-Deck boasts a unique and contemporary interior styled by Miami-based Design Studio JAC featuring high-quality natural materials such as linens, natural stone and teak, with European oak wall paneling and flooring throughout.

While the FD110 and FD100 were recently delivered to their owners, the brand new FD80 Skyline stood out at the Horizon display as the last inventory boat available for 2022. Configured with a four-stateroom layout that features an on-deck master, an enclosed skylounge, expansive deck spaces and a beach club plus crew quarters, the FD80 embodies the best of superyacht living in a mid-size package. Uniquely, this is the first FD80 model in the U.S. to feature an open galley design. She is also the first FD80 to be fitted with Caterpillar 1,600bhp engines and the Garmin Surround View six-camera “Birdseye” system.

Not only were visitors enthused by the yachts on display, excitement over the larger FD125 and FD140 design concepts was contagious, as potential clients envisioned their next or new Horizon yacht.

Over 100 guests, including 15 sets of Horizon yacht owners, gathered for the annual Horizon cocktail party on the Friday evening of the show, where they enjoyed cocktails, camaraderie and yacht hopping before dancing the night away to the eclectic Surf Rock band Twin Suns.

“We were pleased not only with the number of interested clients who pre-booked appointments to see our FD Series yachts during the show, but also with the impressive number of new visitors who were eager to learn more about Horizon,” said Horizon Yacht USA Director Roger Sowerbutts. “Not only has Horizon pioneered the high-volume trend that more yacht owners are demanding, our yachts continue to stand out for the caliber of their engineering and construction. We are seeing a demand for larger builds and anticipate tremendous success for our FD125 and FD140 superyacht models in the coming months.”
