Hull Eight of the innovative Fast Displacement FD75 model is now in build for experienced American boaters. This is the first Horizon for the owners, who customized the layout to suit their plans to cruise the West Coast of the U.S. As such, it is the second FD75 in the U.S. to feature an enclosed bridge, so as to provide a protected area and the flexibility to pilot the boat in various types of weather.

As the entry-level model in the rapidly growing Cor D. Rover-designed Fast Displacement (FD) yacht series, the FD75 features a voluminous design and a High Performance Piercing Bow and hull design that affords unrivaled space and onboard amenities as well as stability and comfort while underway.

On the main deck, the custom aft deck dining table is larger than standard, and features built-in seating and five Valdenassi directors’ chairs with plenty of elbow room for guests. The salon is laid out with a sofa and custom closet to starboard and custom cabinetry with a Subzero wine cooler, glass storage and a Hi/Lo television to port. Full-height windows add to the spacious feeling of the interior and are covered by electric blinds when desired. Forward, a dining area for six with a convertible folding dining table is positioned near the fully-equipped galley furthest forward, which has been outfitted with plentiful storage and heated floors.

The clients opted for a three-stateroom layout, with room for a laundry/utility room on the lower deck and crew quarters aft. One of the hallmarks of the FD75 design is the semi on-deck master, which these clients customized with a king-sized bed with storage drawers, three hanging lockers and a spacious en suite with dual sinks, a shower and heated floors. On the lower deck, a midship VIP features a queen-size bed with storage drawers, a vanity, hanging lockers and an ensuite head. To starboard, a second queen-size stateroom also features a hanging locker and ensuite. The custom utility/laundry room with stacked washer/dryers and storage easily services this area.

Aft of the engine room housing the twin Caterpillar C18A 1,136hp engines and two 30kW gensets, crew quarters comprise a built-in bed with a Pullman berth, a full head, fridge/freezer and an electric room for maintenance access. The hydraulic Hi/Lo swim platform has a 1,500hp rating to accommodate the tender or toys.

On the upper deck, the enclosed skylounge comprises a wheelhouse forward with twin STIDD helm chairs. Aft, a U-shaped dining area surrounds a fixed table, while a dayhead and 55” drop-down television are to port. Cooling drawers have been installed in the port side cabinetry.

The boat deck will house the tender, which is launched by a 1,500lb davit, a custom storage to port and a BBQ area to starboard. The foredeck will be another enviable al fresco space, with built-in seating and sunpads.

Fitted with Zero Speed stabilizers and 45hp bow and stern thrusters, the new FD75 is currently in build and on schedule to launch in August of 2023.
