At the end of August, Horizon Yachts delivered hull six of the wildly popular FD85 luxury motoryacht JULIND to her Australian owner after her successful sea trail in Taiwan. The owner and the Horizon’s team gathered together to celebrate her christening with champagne and firecrackers, which is a traditional Taiwanese ritual for good luck. Although the event was held during a very rainy period in Taiwan, it certainly did not dampen the spirits of the owners or guests.
“In our culture, we believe the more it rains, the more prosperity and good luck you will receive! It is a very good sign,” said John Lu, CEO of Horizon.
The Horizon FD85 motoryacht JULIND is named after owner’s family members, and many of the build requests were based on the way the family use and entertain on board, including the custom helicopter pad. She has created a number of Horizon firsts - she is the first FD85 luxury yacht to deliver to Australia, and also the first Horizon yacht with landing platform for a helicopter. She will also be the first Horizon yacht to sail across the Pacific Ocean.
On her maiden voyage, JULIND will head to Palau for a well-earned family vacation and will meet up with another Horizon owner for some time relaxing in the South Pacific.
“I would like to thank all the Horizon team members for creating such a wonderful yacht for me and my family. We are excited about our upcoming vacation in Palau, and we believe we will have many great memories on JULIND,” said the owner during the ceremony.
From all of us at Horizon Yachts, we wish the owner, the family and the crew a fun, memorable and safe journey conquering the Pacific Ocean!
