Horizon Yachts and the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show By the Numbers:

• 5 days
• 3 Horizon yacht debuts
• 4 Horizon yacht deliveries
• 3 world-renowned designers
• 110,000 yachting and boating enthusiasts

On the third evening of the 59th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the Horizon Yachts stand was filled to capacity. Guests, owners and potential clients chatted over canapés and cocktails, and music filled the air as visitors toured the showcase of exceptional Horizon yachts on display. Among the guests were world-renowned designers Cor D. Rover, J.C. Espinosa, and Jonathan Quinn Barnett (JQB), who offered insight into their distinct designs – the FD Series, the PC Series, and the V68, respectively.

The 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held October 31 – November 4th, reported a record number of attendees this year, retaining its reputed position as the largest on-water boat show in the world. Horizon’s prominent position on a busy thoroughfare and diverse showcase of stunning yachts drew admirers and potential buyers alike.

A celebratory mood pervaded the five-day show, as Horizon commemorated the delivery of four brand new yachts with champagne toasts and gift baskets. Three Horizon PowerCats were turned over to their enthusiastic owners during the show: the PC52, Eternity; PC65 Pomboo, which is the first hull of the series built for two-time repeat Horizon owners; and the largest power catamaran, the PC74 SeaGlass, built for repeat owners who moved up from a PC60.

Among the Horizon Yachts showcase – which included the Horizon power catamarans, the debuting JQB-designed V68, a brand new E88, and the head-turning FD85 – was the fourth yacht to be delivered to its new owners: the CC115 Adagio. Visitors to this brand new custom yacht remarked on the entertainment possibilities and impressive headroom found throughout the five-stateroom layout, as well as the fully bespoke interior design highlighted by custom Italian Listone Giordano woodwork and executed in collaboration with design studio Taller ADG.

The exceedingly popular Horizon Fast Displacement Series was on the minds of many interested clients, who came to tour the FD85 on display and stayed to chat about the FD77, FD87 and FD102 motoryachts.

In the days following the show, the Horizon Yachts USA office has been busy facilitating sea trials and follow up meetings. “This year’s show has been our busiest in years,” says Horizon USA’s Roger Sowerbutts. “We estimate at least 95% of our visitors were qualified buyers, which further serves as a testament not only to the strength of the American market, but also to Horizon’s reputation as a talented and pioneering yacht builder.”
