With the dawn of the New Year came the publication of the 2019 Global Order Book. This highly-anticipated ranking of the world’s yacht builders is prepared annually by Boat International Media and is a trusted reference that provides data on the yachting market. New yacht build and sales activity on power and sail yachts of 24 meters (80 feet) in length and larger is recorded and analyzed, and yacht builders are ranked according to number of projects underway and length of projects currently in build.

Each year, Horizon Yachts has enjoyed a position at the forefront of the listing and this year ranks 11th in terms of number of current projects by length. With 21 projects currently underway at the yard, totaling in length to 622 meters, Horizon’s production has increased for the past three consecutive years, and 820 luxury yachts have been delivered worldwide since the company’s founding in 1987.

There are currently 830 yacht projects in excess of 24 meters either in build or under contract around the world. This number is up by 57 from last year, signifying positive growth in the market worldwide. While yacht builders in the U.S. and China have seen a decrease in new build activity, Taiwan ranks as the world’s 5th yacht building nation, with Horizon accounting for 30% of the country’s yacht projects.

“Horizon has focused not on offering larger yachts only, but on carefully researching the needs of the market, investing in continuous technology and innovation, and introducing high caliber yachts that are stylish and technologically advanced,” says Horizon Yachts CEO John Lu. “We thank our clients who have met the introduction of each new series with enthusiasm and new build orders and we applaud the optimistic signs of the state of the yachting industry that this year’s Global Order Book illustrates.”
