Horizon Group is proud to announce that it has received the prestigious “Taiwan Excellence Award” at the 2020 Taiwan Excellence Awards. The new Horizon FD80 (ex-FD77) Skyline was recognized at the annual awards ceremony, which was held on November 27th. This is the tenth consecutive year that Horizon has received a “Taiwan Excellence Award” and the Horizon FD80 Skyline is the eleventh Horizon model to be recognized with a “Taiwan Excellence Award.”
Established by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1993, the Taiwan Excellence Awards recognize innovation and excellence in industry. Held annually, the awards are presented to candidates who have passed a rigorous and stringent selection system that covers four major aspects of “R&D”, “Design”, “Quality” and “Marketing” to identify outstanding products that offer “Innovative Value” while satisfying the key criterion of being “Made in Taiwan”.
Introduced to the yachting industry in 2019, the FD80 Skyline features contemporary styling, a well-planned layout and expansive interior and exterior entertaining areas. Configured with an enclosed bridge layout, the FD80 Skyline is one of seven models in the acclaimed Fast Displacement Series from Cor D. Rover and Horizon Yachts. Incorporating the same sought-after features that characterize the FD Series, such as large sections of floor-to-ceiling windows, an expansive 22’8” beam, and a striking exterior profile that presides atop Horizon's High Performance Piercing Bow (HPPB) hull design, the compact FD80 Skyline has been designed to accommodate owner operation as well as accommodate a crew of two.
Fitted with numerous owner-inspired amenities, the FD80 Skyline offers four staterooms, including an on-deck master suite. Another impressive feature for an 80ft yacht, the FD80 Skyline showcases an innovative beach club, which accesses the Hi/Lo swim platform. This functional area is an inviting space for enjoying cocktail hour or simply relaxing on the water.
“The Fast Displacement Series is a recent addition to the Horizon fleet, which has seen impressive sales in the three years since it was first introduced, with over 20 FD series yachts in production for owners in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Asia,” said Horizon Yacht Group CEO John Lu. “The Taiwan Excellence Awards represent the highest honor of MIT (Made in Taiwan) products and we are proud to have received these accolades every year. The members of Horizon Group take it upon themselves to continuously improve our luxury yachts, not only to satisfy our clients but also to spread the word about the craftsmanship and quality of yachts built in Taiwan.”
