Horizon Powercat 52 Curulean Launches

The Horizon PowerCat PC52 Hull 18 has recently launched and is en route for delivery to her American owner, an avid sailor who converted from a monohull sailboat to the PowerCat.

Designed for effortless owner operation, the PC52 is a true blue-water cruiser and has become a very popular as an ideal ocean-going, family cruising yacht. The PC52 offers extremely comfortable living spaces, a large galley and spacious salon, as well as all of the necessary amenities for extended cruising. With the entire starboard hull dedicated to the owners, the three-cabin layout sleeps six in comfort.

Christened Curulean, the PC52 Hull 18 has been configured with an Open Bridge layout featuring a BBQ and space for entertaining. A davit to launch the Jet Ski and tender is situated aft. The owner specified three types of burl wood throughout the inviting interior, which creates an atmosphere of casual elegance within the beamy salon, large galley, and spacious staterooms comprised of a king-size master, and a queen and twin staterooms on the portside.

Designed, engineered and developed with the optimum hull slenderness ratio and waterline to beam ratio to ensure stable performance, the PC52 is powered by twin Cummins engines of 550hp each, which yield a cruising speed of 17 knots and a top speed of 22 knots.
