Horizon Yachts is pleased to report we are ranked as the 10th largest luxury yacht builder in the world, with 22 projects ranging from 79 to 136 feet, totaling 2,075 feel in build overall, as noted in the 2017 Showboats International Global Order Book. The ShowBoats Global Order Book provides an in-depth look each year at the international yacht build and sales activity throughout the world on luxury yachts 80 feet in length and larger. Taiwan came in at the number five spot for top producing countries by length (6,196 total feet) and it is noted that the shipyards here “continue on the upward trend that we noted in 2016’s Order Book.”

This year’s Order Book notes stabilization in the market, with a slight overall increase of .7% in the number of yachts on order, under construction or on hold – yachts under 100 feet have increased by 36 orders. “2016 was a wonderful year for Horizon Yachts, not just for our company but also for owners who became a part of our family or re-joined us with another new yacht,” said Lu. “We look forward to 2017, our 30th anniversary year that is sure to bring continued success for Horizon.”

As shown in the 2017 Global Order Book, Horizon experienced an overall successful year, with activity from the first half of 2016 also extending into the third and fourth quarters with new launches, debuts, deliveries, and build orders placed as well as new designs unveiled. In the fall, two Horizon inventory yachts were sold and delivered to U.S. owners – a Horizon E84 open bridge motoryacht and V80 skylounge cockpit motoryacht. The Horizon E84 delivered to repeat Horizon owners who were coming up from a 73 motoryacht, and the V80’s owners are first-time Horizon owners that loved the yacht’s spacious 20’6” beam, open main deck configuration, and numerous outdoor entertaining areas.

At the Fort Lauderdale Int’l Boat Show (FLIBS) this past fall, Horizon debuted hull two of the Horizon E75 motoryacht; designed with the U.S. market in mind, the E75 provides an enclosed skylounge, three en suite guest stateroom layout, and new bow seating area. We also revealed two new additions to the FD series, the FD74 and FD102. With a 21’6” beam, the FD74 is designed to maximize the relationship between interior and exterior, providing large windows, natural light, and spacious living accommodations from one level to the next. The FD102 – the largest of the FD models so far– embodies performance and style, boating an overall length of 104-feet an innovative features such as the aft beach club design and fold-down balconies on the flybridge. Her five-stateroom layout includes a full-beam Master, and as with the other model in the FD series, she offers large windows in the spacious main salon and formal dining area and plenty of opportunities for customization.

Following the announcement of two new FD models, Horizon soon began discussing a customized FD85 for a family looking to move up from their 50-foot yacht. They were in need of an enclosed skylounge and an aft beach club design, and Horizon and Cor D. Rover went back to the drawing board of the FD85, creating the FD87 “Skyline” to suit their needs. Shortly after signing the new build order, Horizon Yachts CEO John Lu decided the FD87 was such a great design that Horizon officially added the model to the FD series. The FD87 Skyline creates an aura of peaceful serenity on the ocean, thanks to her spacious 23’3” beam, stunning floor-to-ceiling windows in the salon and dining areas, and incredible views from the on-deck master. The five en suite staterooms and two crew cabins, beach club, bow seating and enclosed bridge with Portuguese walk-around complete the design, leaving nothing to be desired in both form and function. The first FD87 Skyline will deliver to her U.S. owners at the first season of 2018.

Horizon also signed a second new build order, this one for the CC115 – a customized raised pilothouse also designed in collaboration with Cor D. Rover. These experienced owners loved the Horizon RP models but wanted something a little bit different, focusing on a Portugeuse bridge around the bridge deck and innovative features aimed at the owners very specific use requirements with family and friends. This new CC115 is currently in her tooling stage, with completion scheduled for 2018.

Last but certainly not least, Horizon prepared for two major launches for owners in December: hull one of the E98 motoryacht “Do It Now” and the CC110 “Abaco.” The E98 is the bigger sister of the popular E88 model designed on a 23’2 beam; “Do It Now” was personalized around the tastes of her second-time Horizon owner, from the beautiful Walnut wood to the extended salon design on the main deck. The owner plans to cruise her in south FL and the Bahamas after the delivery this month. Built for a five-time Horizon owner from Germany, “Abaco” has exterior lines from Beiderbeck Design and a beautiful interior from Horizon. The owners selected a three en suite stateroom layout between a full-beam on-deck master and two guest staterooms below deck; crew quarters are found aft of the engines. She is also delivering to her owners this month.
