Horizon Yachts’ New Designs Bring Praise & Success to Largest Ever Fort Lauderdale Int’l Boat Show

The Fort Lauderdale Int’l Boat Show (FLIBS) is the largest boat show in the world, celebrated for its vast array of luxury yachts and marine products showcased in what is hailed as the yachting capital of the world. Offering over $4 billion worth of yachts and thousands of show visitors, this year’s show was one for the record books – from Nov 1-5, Horizon Yachts hosted it’s largest ever lineup with the RP120 and RP110 superyachts, the debuting FD85 fast displacement motoryacht, E88 and E75 skylounge motoryachts, and PC60 “Quintessence” and PC52 power catamarans. Horizon’s display was packed with visitors all five days of the show, and we were overwhelmed with the amount of positive feedback; feedback that turned into success with signed contracts at the show, and we continue to speak with a number of current owners and clients about inventory available and new build projects.

A debuting model and on the “must see” list for show guests was the new Horizon FD85 fast displacement motoryacht. Designed by Cor D. Rover, the FD85 offers five spacious guest staterooms – including an on-deck Master – plus crew quarters situated on her 23’3” beam. Her striking exterior was easily seen when walking down the main dock, and the large floor-to-ceiling windows in the mains salon drew the words “wow” from every guest who stepped on board. The most common statement heard about the FD85 was, “I can’t believe this yacht is only 85 feet – she’s huge!”

Also new on display was the RP110 superyacht, the smaller sister to the RP120 superyacht, both of which were designed by J.C. Espinosa. Her rich Mahogany wood, leather wall accents, and customized interior features were designed for the U.S. market, as was her five stateroom layout with an on-deck Master and crew quarters aft. Guests were impressed with her exterior entertaining spaces on the flybridge, bow and aft deck, but also appreciated the elegance and luxurious feel of her interior design.

There is always a good party to be had at FLIBS, and Horizon’s VIP preview night is no exception; Horizon treated VIPs to live music, cocktails and delicious hors d’oeuvres on Friday evening to celebrate the company’s impressive show line up. We also had the pleasure of attending the official christening of the Horizon PC60 “Quintessence” for second-time Horizon PC owners, who raised their glasses of champagne to toast their wonderful new yacht and years of fun cruising on board.
