Three Horizon yacht models will make their Miami debut along Collins Avenue at the 2018 Miami Yacht Show. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the annual in-water luxury yacht show, which will take place from February 15-19. Located between Show Entrance 3 and 4 on Collins Avenue, Horizon’s showcase will include the Horizon PC74, the FD85 and the RP110.
Designed to be the flagship of Horizon’s Power Catamaran Series, the brand new Horizon PC74 model boasts the elegant design and excellent seakeeping of luxury motoryachts coupled with the superior cruising stability and voluminous interior and exterior spaces provided by catamarans. This model builds on the successful elements of Horizon’s PC52 and PC60 powercats in a design meant to appeal to both first-time owners and experienced catamaran clients. Exterior and interior styling is from the boards of J.C. Espinosa, who retained the elegant streamlined appearance that characterizes the PC Series. The PC74’s voluminous 28’4” beam provides for a spacious and comfortable salon that is highlighted by an attractive headliner of carved leather panels in a high-gloss walnut surround. An on-deck king-sized Master stateroom is situated forward of the salon while three further guest staterooms as well as the crew quarters are situated on the lower deck.
Exterior entertaining and lounging areas are plentiful on the PC74, from the multi-functional open flybridge equipped with air-conditioning, a full-service bar, day head with shower, BBQ and dining and lounging areas, to the wonderfully spacious forward deck with sunpads and aft deck area with a wet bar, television and dinette. A hi/lo swim platform is wide enough to accommodate a jet ski and features storage space below for up to 12 dive tanks. The PC74 is equipped with economical CAT 1136HP engines and boasts an impressive 930nm range at an 11-knot cruise. This attractive catamaran is poised to set the benchmark for luxury catamarans and will perform superbly on the charter market.
Hull three of the FD85 motoryacht is the first of an eye-catching series that made its U.S. debut at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Designed in collaboration between world-renowned yacht designer Cor D. Rover and Horizon’s in-house naval architecture team, the FD (Fast Displacement) Series includes the FD74, FD85, FD87 Skyline, and FD102 models. The award-winning FD85 will first be noticed for its unique exterior styling, which maximizes the use of glass, such as the floor-to-ceiling glass windows and sliding doors in the main salon. The innovation continues below the waterline, as the FD85 features Horizon’s new High Performance Piercing Bow (HPPB) designed to ensure superior performance and stability. An incredible 23’3” beam highlights the 85-footer’s contemporary-styled interior, which invites in copious natural light thanks to the large windows throughout. Light woods set off by dark walnut flooring in a herringbone pattern are highlights of the décor, while design elements such as mixed materials and unique textures add visual interest.
The FD85 features a layout designed for efficiency with an expansive main salon with a formal dining area and a spacious on-deck Master suite forward; four en suite staterooms are located on the lower deck with crew quarters aft. A resort-like feel characterizes the FD85’s exterior spaces, which include a hi/lo swim platform, a spacious aft deck with seating for up to 12 guests, and a multifunctional open flybridge with a helm station, seating, BBQ grill, wet bar and Jacuzzi tub.
Showcasing for the first time at Miami is the new RP110 superyacht from Horizon’s Raised Pilothouse Series of motoryachts. The RP110 features a stylish exterior design from J.C. Espinosa atop a double chine, high-performance hull that was developed in collaboration between Donald L. Blount & Associates and Horizon’s in-house naval architecture team. This innovative hull design not only provides a shallow draft but also minimizes drag at slower speeds and enhances hydrodynamic stability at high speeds. The RP110 offers a spacious, functional and flexible five-stateroom layout within its 25’ beam. The Master stateroom is situated on deck along with the main salon, formal dining area, and portside galley, while two mirrored queen-size VIP staterooms and two twin guest staterooms reside on the lower deck. The RP110 echoes the entertaining and lounging options of the larger RP120, while also featuring a tender garage that doubles as a beach club and includes a day head and storage.
